So he tells his jeweler to make 2 exact copies of the diamonds. Thus, Buckinghams gives him the copies, he gives it to d’Artagnan, and he takes it to Paris to give to the queen. In both the book and the movie, the various events along each individual journey help illustrate not only the physical deterioration of the environment and the characters’ health but also the psychological degradation of the characters’ conscience and consciousness. In both Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now, the various dramatic shifts in the environment from the onset of the river journeys delineate an increasing barbarity and savagery as the characters penetrate deeper and deepe .....

This theme is particularly exemplified by Ma Joad, who played a major part. The Joads encountered a constant struggle to keep the family going and intact. When Ma knew that gramma Joad was dying she told her that there was nothing she could do, that the family needed to get across the desert that night. It was not until they were across the desert that she let the family know that Gramma Joad had died during the night. Ma Joad .....

Being in a war and to be around new faces, new personalities, confusion, and trauma would force one to adapt to an environment faster than you usually would. Just imagine leaving your country home and entering a new and frightening world on a battlefield. What can make one a hero or a coward? Fears, emotions, thoughts, and feelings can be the factors that contribute towards the struggle. As I read this novel I lived not only Henry's actions, but also his individual thoughts and .....
