On the Road exemplifies Kerouac's search for "IT," and the road is Sal Paradise's single guide; however, Sal's escapades with Dean Moriarty are most certainly energetic spurts of motivation and pure insanity. On the Road is the charismatic adventure of two men, hungry for life, taking the reader on four journeys across America in search of identity through experience. In actuality the story was written in three short weeks; however, the trip itself lasted seven years. However, there are many episodes between Idgie and Ruth that are undeniable proof that they are homosexuals. The idea that Idgie and Ruth are lesbians is rampant throughout the story. It is evidenced by the way they speak to each other and act towards each other, but the idea is subverted due to the fact that everyone in the town sees Idgie as a man. The idea that Idgie and Ruth are lesbians can be misunderstood. .....

Some of the animals come to realize what is happening and are mad at Napoleon, but Napoleon talks his way out of it by convincing the animals that they are mistaken and the hospital uses vehicles marked "slaughterhouse" to pick up injured animals. Stalin's character was similar as he used people for his own advantage, and when they were not further useful to him, he eliminated them. The dogs represent Napoleon's secret police. Napoleon raised them up from pups so they think his way and will do anything for him. They help hunt down Snowball and do Napoleon's dirty work so eve .....

.... I see Al as being a crucial character later in the novel. He is the kind of person that needs motivation from the start, but once he gets going, he won't stop. Setting Description Oklahoma could best be described as one large dustbowl. All rain has ceased to fall. The dry wind wisps through the air and gathers dirt. If you listen closely enough, it sounds as though there are people moaning whenever wind is present. The heat is so humid that any source of water is dried up, and the plants wither away. All of the corn crops are gone as well as all other crops. The dirt is like sand; it has no moisture or fertiliza .....

.... book review by Mark Harris, Chyna doesn’t act like a horror-movie teenager and run into the hall. She does like most of us would do; she hides under the bed. Koontz really makes it feel like you could be the one squished under that bed. When the killer leaves the room Chyna searches the house undetected and finds her friend and everyone else had been brutally but quietly murdered. With revenge burning inside her, she rides undetected with two corpses on Edgler’s motor home. On the ride she witnesses two more killings and learns of a girl captive in his basement, whom she becomes determined to free. Back at Vess’ log cab .....

.... the pace of the passage. As the loggers are skating the pace gets faster, and then starts to slow down when he goes back home to his routine life. By going against the night, the loggers are essentially breaking the rules: “Their lanterns replaced them with new rushes which let them go further past boundaries” (page 22). This idea of going past boundaries reminds us of a part later in the novel. Patrick goes past boundaries when he sets fire to the Muskoka Hotel on page 168. .... case of loneliness is Curley’s wife. No matter how hard she tried she couldn’t fit in. For example, when she tried numerous times to talk to George and Lenny she was either ignored or told to leave. Because of her reputation for being a flirt none of the farmhands wanted to talk to her. It was the threat of getting in trouble with Curley that caused many workers to avoid her. In addition, because of Curley’s insecure feelings he neglected her and forced her to seek attention anyway she could, even it meant flirting. She was ignored by both the farmhands and her own husband and because of this she was being forced into lon .....
