College Essay: Which Of Your Possessions Reveals Most About You And Why?
Number of words: 702 | Number of pages: 3.... all your life?"
"He, Watson, he. I conclude that the possessor of this book bag is a young man of a scholarly nature, most likely a teenager, a student of various academic disciplines. His eyesight is most likely poor, and it seems that he is very exceptional, but tries to make up for his faults. He obviously prefers to perform simple tasks in exciting, unusual ways, likes a good discussion, and is not afraid to reveal his opinions. Self-conscious of his mistakes, he likes to straighten them out at the first opportunity, and is well equipped to fight boredom. And this is my perfunctory opinion. Had I met the gentleman, I would .....

Personal Writing: The Guitar
Number of words: 722 | Number of pages: 3.... He told me I could have it, because he had just bought a
brand knew one. The strings and the pick guard had been taken out, so I
went to a guitar store and they fixed everything for me. I was able to
play it after that. I also have an Ovation guitar, which is a lot
different from the electric guitar I had gotten from my friend. My sister
won the Ovation guitar in a raffle, along with Melissa Efferage concert
tickets. She doesn't play the guitar, so she gave it to me. Melissa
Efferage plays the same guitar, and it cost over thirteen hundred dollars.

Creative Writing: The Inferno
Number of words: 523 | Number of pages: 2.... its blades of contempt. The
walls of mockery laugh at me as I foolishly try to climb them to rid myself of
its presence. Yet there is no escape. I have inflicted more pain upon myself.
Nothing is soft in here; everything is jagged. My un-sanded wooden dresser
rests on the right side of the doorway. Figures of dancers with invisible
partners lie atop the uneven surface. They seem to move slowly across the
dresser, like seaweed drifting aimlessly across the sea. My unpleasant and
discomforting bed of stone rests in the center of the room. It is not the usual
shape of a bed. Rather, it seems as if it were molded to fit .....

Creative Writing: The Missed Fly Ball
Number of words: 1299 | Number of pages: 5.... had rounded third base and was at least halfway home. The
runner did score on a close play at the plate. The run gave the other team a
two run advantage going into the sixth inning, which was the last in midget
league. I knew at this point I was going to have a hard time facing the other
guys on the team after this big let down. It also made me decide to quit
baseball all together. Since quitting baseball at such a early age I missed on
the opportunity to take part in what could have, at one time, been considered
America's Pastime.
Once a few years later I started to learn how to play basketball for the first
time. It wa .....

Number of words: 806 | Number of pages: 3.... bottom
four feet of the walls consist of wood paneling that matches the benches. The
top half is covered with an ugly brown wallpaper that reminds me of the
wallpaper in my grandmother's house. The wallpaper usually goes unnoticed
because most of it is covered up with other stuff. Hanging on the wall behind
the counter there is a collection of old frying pans and various outdated wooden
cooking utensils. On the other walls there are mirrors, wildlife sketches,
black and white photographs of the diner from when it first opened 40 years ago,
and plagues that the owner received from the local volunteer fire department.

Personal Writing: The Hamster
Number of words: 991 | Number of pages: 4.... and wreak havoc throughout my parents' house. Because I've never
taken care of a hamster before, my sister had to tell me how I was to take
care of her hamster. I was to feed it, make sure there was plenty of water,
play with it, and give it some exercise by putting it inside of a plastic
ball and let it run around inside of it for exercise Simple, or so I
thought...
The first day went smoothly, and the hamster was doing its hamster
thing: eating, drinking, and running like crazy inside of its hamster
wheel. At certain times of the day I would put the hamster in the little
plastic ball so that it could run around f .....

Hopeful Encounter
Number of words: 2956 | Number of pages: 11.... were still open, desperate for any last minute
customers. One such shopkeeper was Phil Anderson. Anderson had worked as
a pharmacist for most of his life. At forty, he had little to show for.
The pollution that caused the gradual decay of the city had had negative
effects on business, as well as the environment. Phil, though by all means
not an old man, showed signs of premature aging. His skin was pale and dry,
wrinkled by the everyday punishment of the deteriorating sorroundings. Few
strands of grayish white hair lined his almost bald, dandruff infested
scalp. Looking at Phil with his characteristic limp, slouched pos .....

My Vacation In Acapulco Mexico
Number of words: 1091 | Number of pages: 4.... Mexican men were beating drums and banging sticks providing the sound effects for the story. This was truly a great beginning to a wonderful afternoon. Behind the restaurant was a low mountainous area, accessible by walking trails only. We hiked one of these trails, observing the brightly colored tropical plants and trees that flourished on this well maintained terrain. A beautiful waterfall added to the splendor, and when we reached the top, a lookout provided a panoramic view of the entire bay. What a breathtaking sight! There was a bar here, and after a cool drink we decided to head down. We took a different trail down that .....

Personal Writing: Karate Class
Number of words: 768 | Number of pages: 3.... Manhattan in a public school. I was
so nervous about this tournament I felt sick. Well it was my time to shine,
and shine I did. In the peewee division for my first event I had to

beat everyone in my group and won first place. The next event was fighting.
I was a little scared, but, looking at my father's face, I couldn't let
him down. I beat my first three opponents with no problem. It all came
down to the fight for first and second but I didn't really want to fight.

Creative Writing: Instant
Number of words: 3566 | Number of pages: 13.... wasn't.
"Lock and load," I yelled.
The helicopter circled low and slowed down until it almost hovered four feet
from the ground. The door gunner mashed the spade grips on his .30 caliber M60
machine gun. The gun spewed bullets over the field below us.
It was time to jump off the skids while we skimmed above the surface of the
lush, green valley. My stomach felt like it was turning wrong-side-out.
We dropped into the grass, stumbling under heavy packs and the weight of ammo
and weapons. I wondered about snakes and hoped the groan I mad when I hit the
ground was drowned by the noise of the helicopters. Though the helicop .....
