shore. As soon as they got out of their boats the Vikings poured onto land
ripping off the monk's clothing and tearing their bodies apart with their
sharp swords, and sometimes drowned them. Viking raiders tipped over the
cross of Bishop Ethelwold, which was built out of stone. Before they left
that hot day the Vikings had taken all of the monk's treasure, set each
building aflame, and killed the monk's cattle to feed themselves on. Then,
in an instant they got into their ships and left.
This was the first major Viking attack, as you can see it was
pretty gruesome, but they were ju .....

Cartels Of Japan
Number of words: 905 | Number of pages: 4.... may not work for tomorrow. The government only witnessed the success of their decisions, however they were unable to adapt that success to continue through the changing times. By protecting their businesses, they were shutting out the rest of the world, and by doing this, they would have to sustain themselves. Not that the world did not want any part of Japan, on the other hand, Japan (because of protectionism) seemed not to want any part of the world. In addition, the protectionism had some bias characteristics to it as well. It seems that the government favored only a small elite of the businesses. These businesses were known a .....

Cuban Missile Crisis 4
Number of words: 1317 | Number of pages: 5.... U.S.
to remove Castro from office. We armed and trained about 2000 Cuban exiles for this job. The hope was that a
general uprising would begin, and Castro would be removed from office by his own people and not by any United
States personnel. What cost the success of the mission was that the U.S. neglected to provide air cover for the
troops. Of the 2000 troops, 300 were killed and the rest were taken prisoner. Evidently, Kennedy did not want
another Bay of Pigs, so he elected to try a naval!
blockade. He must have made the right choice, because we are still here today.
An advantage that the U.S.S.R. had if we had not .....

Ancient Japanese Art
Number of words: 2150 | Number of pages: 8.... is the one that I found to be a little mysterious.
When I first saw this piece of work I questioned its value and just why it was in the museum because two feet away on either side of it were beautiful inkings and paintings. I looked back in the middle and found this piece of art to be more of a piece of crap. So I looked harder.
The work is painted on part of a horizontally unraveled scroll. The exposed part of the scroll is one foot high and four feet from left to right. To the far right the re-scroll had a few feet rolled up into a tube. To the left an unknown amount of the scroll is still hidden from view. It looks .....

Anti-semitism In Nazi Germany
Number of words: 1499 | Number of pages: 6.... Nazi youth leader, told a psychologist, "You have no idea what a great influence this book had on the thinking of the German youth…I read Henry Ford's book 'The International Jewry'…and became anti-Semitic." (Pinson, K 1966:487). It is not that anti-Semitism did not exist within Germany. 'Der nationale Sozialismus' (1st ed., Munich, 1920; 2nd ed., 1992), written by Rudolf Jung of Troppau, contained heavy anti-Semitic views and was considered to be one of, if not the most, authoritative presentations of national-socialist doctrine. Another example of anti-Semitism lies in the writings of Deitrich Eckart, whose weekly .....

Japanese Animation
Number of words: 4250 | Number of pages: 16.... through comedic exploits, anime was created to entertain wider audience groups. Indeed, one might find difficulty in characterizing all anime together; the Japanese have viewed animation as a medium of creation rather a form of entertainment limited in audience and expression. Anime is included in a group from which the United States has traditionally banned animation; specifically, anime is considered a form of creative expression, much as are literature, modern art, live-action films, and other arts. A man by the name of Osamu Tezuka first envisioned animation’s possibilities in Japan in the 1960s (Ledoux, 1). Tezuka realized t .....

Number of words: 2418 | Number of pages: 9.... when he says, "I do not need my freedom when I'm dead. I cannot live on tomorrow's bread." He recognizes the need for freedom in its entirety without compromise or fear. I think Langston Hughes captures the essence of the American immigrants' quest for freedom in his poem, "Freedom's Plow." He accurately describes American's as arriving with nothing but dreams and building America with the hopes of finding greater freedom or freedom for the first time. He depicts how people of all backgrounds worked together for one cause: freedom. I selected Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 as a fictitious example of the evils of censorsh .....
