Does God Exist
Number of words: 952 | Number of pages: 4.... assumes that a first cause is needed
to explain the existence of anything. Aquinas also assumes this first cause to
be God. How can anyone rationally conclude that there is a God from the
simple statement that a first cause is necessary? Therefore, a first cause does
not prove God, it only assumes that there is a God, at best. Could one not
put matter in the place of God in Aquinas' argument and still assume there is
a first efficient cause? The theory that matter "is", is just as plausible as the
theory that God "is". Matter is closed and finite in extent, with no beginning
or end. Putting Matter in the place of God in the end o .....

Even when Senator McCarthy was giving his very first accusing speech in Wheeling he had not any factual information whatever to support his accusations. The truth is that in making his speech in Wheeling, Senator McCarthy was talking of a subject and circumstances about which he knew nothing. After the specially-appointed Tydings Commit .....

King often cited conscience as a guide to obeying just laws and disobeying unjust ones. In an essay written by King titled “A l .....

Heroin Legislation
Number of words: 778 | Number of pages: 3.... into a more hopeful future?
There is great fear reverberating through the community; fear of stepping into a more open and frightening, yet decidedly more promising way of tackling the issue. Reform does not mean, as opposers argue, condoning the use of drugs. It means accepting that drugs are part, admittedly an unfortunate part, of our society which will not simply ‘go away’.
The refreshingly new ideas of controlled heroin trials, legal injecting rooms and greater availability of clean needles should be given consideration.
Lightening of the law would bring drug use out of the shadows it has long inhabited, removing the .....
