Dear Editor, It came to my attention after reading the news yesterday, that a man proven innocent was convicted of rape in Maycomb County just one week ago. How could this be? If he was proven innocent, then how could the jury possibly convict him? To put these questions to rest, I decided to look more into it. I researched the town, the people, the jury, and the defendant. The defendant (a man named Tom Robinson) is a black man.
