It is virtually impossible to direct language in a way that will lead us to a more egalitarian society. There are far too many obstacles to overcome. Beyond the ideas of racism or sexism there is also the running debate about religion and the nature of people to always want to win. I believe that we can reach a more tolerant society through teaching and good parenting, however, I do not believe that we could ever have a true egalitarian society.
