The editorial I chose this week is entitled “Automobile Tax – Equity issues outweigh lost revenue.” The article reveals that this tax brings in more than fifteen million dollars to the municipal treasury each year. This tax places the honest taxpayers in a bind where the collection rate of the tax is 75%. Dallas’ city council members decided to get rid of in favor of a higher property tax.
