The first amendment states that we, as Americans, have the right to free speech. The way that I have interpreted this is to say what I want, when I want. I believe that we Americans have earned this right. My parents brought me up to also believe that if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything at all. I think that college students should have enough sense to know what is okay to say to somebody without hurting anyone’s feelings.
