watching over them. Under their pressure, they don't dare to rebel against
them. Her wife sees images moving around on the dark side. That brings up
a big contradicting point comparing this to our present society. Back then,
woman does not have much freedom. They are under man's hands. Secretly
they tired to struggle through this strangle. But they failed after all.
My favorite passage of this story is on page 163. The detailed
description that the wife describes really draws much attention to me. It
talks about some details that the wife finds looking at the wallpaper. And

1984: Some Prophecies Have Come True
Number of words: 552 | Number of pages: 3.... The brainwashing in the book might be a
little exaggerated but it is still the same concept.
Yet another example is how people are tagged with numbers. People
today are identified by a social security number same as in 1984. Many of
Orwells predictions became true but many didn't.
Despite the truths, there were many untruths prevalent in 1984.
Many concepts expressed in the book such as banned sex, thought police,
food shortages from the past were all predictions that never became true.
Orwell made the prediction that sex would be illegal in the year 1984. In
the story Winston and Julia were caught having sex and .....

Experiencing Can Be Corrupting
Number of words: 844 | Number of pages: 4.... short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, “Young Goodman Brown.” In the short story “Young Goodman Brown,” Hawthorne illustrates how a person can go from a state of innocence to a state of experience, thus corrupting the individual.
As one reads the short story of Hawthorne, it is easy to observe that the overtone is one in which it displays the corruption of a man’s mind. The corruption of the protagonist, Young Goodman Brown, would not have been so clear if it wasn’t for the theme of his state of innocence being stripped of him by his experience. This theme is critical in this short story, whereas without it, Hawthorne .....

The Fountainhead: Howard Roark And Objectivism
Number of words: 323 | Number of pages: 2.... have to say that although Miss
Rand's Objetivism works well with in the realm of the book, I fail to see it in
the "real world." In the "real world" these underlying principles are ever-
changing. Brought out by constantly advancing ideas, technology, and influences,
old conventions become replaced everyday. I fail to see the social beauracracy
that Miss Rand seems to believe there is. Besides even if it did exist, I don't
see how intentionally going against it would make anyone happier.
Although I have to say that I did not agree with Ayn Rand's ideas, I did
however find The Fountainhead an excellent read. The stor .....
